 The so-called "cupcakes" are small "gems" of almond paste filled with orange or mandarin preserves decorated in such a festive and colorful way that just looking at them will brighten the day. The name was given by the fact that these desserts, precisely, once prepared, are kept for long periods in the pantry called in ancient times "riposto" or closet.
